
Penny H. Timmons, MA, LMFT
Penny is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over ten years of experience working with individuals, families and couples. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California, Master’s Degrees in Psychology and Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and is a graduate of The Relational Center’s training program in Relational Gestalt Therapy.
Penny has worked extensively with adolescents and adults on a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, shame, stress, relationships, decision-making, pandemic anxiety, climate despair, social media addiction, and self-esteem. She is trauma-responsive, views suffering through a lens of systemic oppression, is LGBTQ+ affirming, and body affirming.
In addition to her practice, Penny is currently a clinical trainer and supervisor at The Relational Center. She has presented at NASW-USC Social Workers for Social Justice: A Toolkit for Community Organizing and Advocacy in a Changing Political Landscape, CALPCC Navigating the New Normal: Counseling During COVID-19, Hillside Wellness Center, Family Service of Santa Monica and Psychobabble. She is available for workshops/presentations on various topics including Self-Harm, Social Isolation, Shared Collective Trauma, Social Media Addiction, Climate Despair and Psychotherapy as a Political Act.
