About Therapy

I believe wellbeing is both a personal and a political issue.  I know seeking support is not easy to do and I am honored to be a part of your healing journey.  Together, we can find the right path forward.

As a relational therapist, I take a holistic approach to understanding both where you are in your life and how I can help you get to where you want to be. I believe your present situation is informed by your relationships–not just your relationships with other people, but all of your relationships. Our lives are made up of complex webs of relationships with people, with work, with money, with food, with sex, with culture, with substances, with community, etc.  We also have relationships with ourselves–with our thoughts, with our emotions, with our bodies, with our memories of the past and with our hopes for the future.  Our ability to achieve goals, cope with change and live the lives we want  depends upon the quality of these relationships.

Climate despair, the pandemic, and lack of safety in the current political climate have created additional anxiety and despair for many of us. At the same time, social media (and traditional media) send us constant messages that we aren’t good enough, that everyone else is happier and more successful. These are just some of the issues I can help you navigate.

In a world full of “cookie cutter” counseling  approaches, I believe everyone’s situation is unique and our work together will be tailored specifically to you.  Whether you are struggling in a relationship with a loved one,  working through grief and loss, managing anxiety, or navigating change, our work will focus on understanding where you are now, identifying roadblocks, and uncovering the supports and strengths that will allow you to get to where you want to be.

My current fee is $150/hour for coaching or therapy. I do not take insurance plans, but am happy to provide you with a super bill for out-of-network reimbursement. Sliding scale and student fees may also be available.
